Advanced English Conversation and Writing for Careers
This class is designed for advanced learners who want to improve their writing skills for professional settings. You'll focus on creating clear, concise, and persuasive business documents—whether it's emails, reports, or presentations. In addition, you'll expand your business vocabulary and sharpen your understanding of advanced grammar to write with accuracy and confidence. Through practical exercises, real-world examples, and individualized feedback, you’ll develop the skills to communicate effectively and professionally in any business context. Ideal for non-native speakers aiming to excel in the global workplace.
This is not a travel class. Students will not be touring the city.

Class meets: Wed, Feb 26 7pm–10pm (online orientation)
Sat–Sun, March 1–2 10am–4pm in NYC
Wed, March 5 7pm–10pm Final Project Submission

Please note: Your course will consist of a pre-assignment, independent coursework, and a final assignment as well as class sessions. Credit for J-1 visa students is 36 hours. Students earning J-1 visa credit must attend all sessions and complete all homework.
Please note that your pre-assignment will be emailed to you one week before your orientation. You will receive details on how to log in to your online orientation before the start of the course.
Students who require their certificate sooner than outlined above should request their final assignment in advance by contacting BMCC at aupair@bmcc.cuny.edu. Please note that BMCC needs two days from the date a student submits their final assignment to issue an educational certificate.

About your instructor
Masha is an experienced English Language Specialist, Cross-Cultural Consultant, Workforce English Coach, ESL Teacher Trainer, Co-Founder of Be Fluent NYC with over 17 years of experience working with English language learners to children, teenagers and adults from all industries. Masha earned her BA in English Literature from McGill University and is on track to receive her Master's in TESOL from Hunter College in 2025.
