TOEFL Test Prep

Hello ESL Students!

This course is designed to prepare students to perform well on the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL). It utilizes a comprehensive language development approach focusing on each of the areas tested in the exam:

  • Reading

  • Listening

  • Speaking

  • Writing

Instruction in each of these topics will help students master the necessary skills needed to excel on the TOEFL exam.

Our Saturday ESL classes are held in person at our Manhattan campus.

Please note that your pre-assignment will be emailed to you one week before your orientation.


Students are required to be present during all classes, as well as orientation and final project submission.

Students who require their certificate sooner than outlined above should request their final assignment in advance by contacting BMCC at aupair@bmcc.cuny.edu. Please note that BMCC needs two days from the date a student submits their final assignment to issue an educational certificate.

About your instructor:

 

Mario Souza

Mario Souza has a Master’s degree in TESOL from Hunter College. He has written questions for the TOEFL exam and has been a grader for the exam. Mario has been teaching ESL and EFL in the United States and overseas for more than 20 years. He is an important part of the CUNY Language Immersion Program at Laguardia College where he focuses on reading and composition.
